New Organic Olive Oil (Novello) 2025/2026 is coming soon! Contact us to pre-order.

Over the past two weeks, we at Masserie Zappacosta have experienced intense and highly rewarding days, traveling across Italy to present our premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil. From Lucca to Trieste, we met enthusiasts and industry professionals, bringing to the tasting table the authentic flavors, the art, and the deep love for our territory: Molise.

EVOO Events: “Lucca Olive Oil You” and Great Italian Comedy

Our tour dedicated to green gold began on March 7th and 8th in Tuscany. We were guests at “Lucca olive oil you”, the premium event organized by Fausto Borrella within the renowned Lucca Gustosa festival.

This was our farm’s second time participating. Exhibiting in a historical setting like the Ex Real Collegio, under its magnificent frescoed ceilings, was priceless: the perfect backdrop to present what we consider our “work of art,” our EVOO. The greatest joy was reuniting with the many friends and customers we met last year, who returned to discover the aromas of the new olive oil campaign firsthand.

Crowning a perfect weekend was the theater. We attended “Non ti pago”, the masterpiece by Eduardo De Filippo staged at the Teatro Comunale del Giglio Giacomo Puccini. The play, directed by the late Luca De Filippo and revived for the tenth anniversary of his passing by his wife Carolina Rosi, featured a brilliant Salvo Ficarra as Ferdinando Quagliuolo. Experiencing true Neapolitan comedy live was an overwhelming experience.

We sincerely thank Carolina Rosi for bringing this work back to life, allowing even younger generations to enjoy theater of this immense caliber. But our admiration for her goes far beyond the stage: Carolina, in fact, besides being a wonderful actress, is also an excellent agricultural entrepreneur—a true role model for those who, like us, live off the land and nature. By her side, she boasts a team of fantastic collaborators, including Lucia, someone capable of transmitting contagious energy and passion for everything she sells and represents.

Olio Capitale in Trieste: Oil Tourism and the Story of Molise

Following the emotions of Lucca, Masserie Zappacosta’s journey continued towards Friuli-Venezia Giulia to participate in Olio Capitale in Trieste, from March 13th to 15th.

As this was our first time at this prestigious fair, entirely dedicated to quality extra virgin olive oil, we are extremely satisfied. We spent three days sharing ideas with the best producers from all over Italy, laying the groundwork for fruitful future collaborations.

In Trieste, our main goal was clear: to introduce our olive oil and, through it, to promote our beloved Molise. Thanks to the Mirabilia project, we became spokespeople for a new and fascinating tourism concept linked to the world of olive oil: oil tourism (olioturismo).

Through videos and photographs of the enchanting views of Montenero di Bisaccia, suspended between the Adriatic Sea and the mountains, we shared how our oils are the direct expression of a unique and pristine agricultural landscape.

Our Premium Extra Virgin Olive Oils: Granciara and Cantigallo

During the events, we guided visitors through professional tasting journeys, proudly presenting two of our flagship products:

  • Granciara Oil (Organic) Monovarietal of Cerasa di Montenero: A truly unique EVOO. It comes from a native, cherry-shaped olive (hence the name Cerasa), harvested from majestic centuries-old olive trees that carry the wisdom of time on their trunks.

  • Cantigallo Oil (Organic and Molise PDO): The proud, liquid representation of our region. It is a medium fruity oil with intense aromas on the nose, revealing an enveloping mouthfeel that finishes with elegant spicy and bitter notes. Its label—depicting foxes, badgers, wolves, and hawks—tells the story of the rich biodiversity that inhabits and brings our organic olive groves to life.

Returning Home: Olive Tree Pruning Begins

Now we are back home in Molise. Our suitcases are heavy with fatigue, but our hearts are light and enthusiastic because of the positive feedback received from consumers and industry professionals alike.

Trade show season is taking a break for now: it’s time to head back to the fields. Nature doesn’t stop, and it’s already time to begin a light pruning of the olive trees to best prepare the plants for the next precious harvest.
